By Serendip Unfolded · 2 Nov 2026. General planning notes; confirm details for your own dates when you request a quote.
A good quote answers your questions before you have to ask them. When you compare private Sri Lanka tours, the number at the bottom matters less than what sits above it.
Look for a line-by-line breakdown
A clear quote lists transfers, park permits, jeep fees, meals and stays separately, so you can see what you are paying for. If a quote shows one total with no detail, ask for the breakdown before you go further.
Check the basis of the price
Ask whether the price is per person or per group, how many guests it assumes, and whether taxes are included. A price that changes with group size should say so in writing.
Ask what is not included
Every tour leaves something out. Common examples are flights, travel insurance, optional activities and personal spending. A good quote names these, so nothing surprises you on the way.
Read the cancellation and change terms
Terms should be stated before you pay anything. Costs paid to third parties, such as hotels and park permits, usually follow the supplier's own terms, and they should be shown line by line.
Confirm pickup details
Check the pickup point, the pickup window and the estimated transfer times. Pickups outside the usual areas may need a separate transfer quote.
Be wary of vague promises
Wildlife sightings, weather and sea conditions cannot be guaranteed by anyone. Treat a guaranteed animal as a warning sign, not a selling point.
At Serendip Unfolded, quotes are itemised on request and you pay only after you approve the written plan. Send your dates and ideas from the contact page and we will reply with questions or a first draft.
